Travers is Edie's only son who she had while married to her first husband. Edie let her husband (during the divorce) have full custody of Travers as she thought she was a bad mother. Travers used to come to visit Wisteria Lane twice a year. But is now studying Mathematics at college.

Travers comes to stay with Edie and he and Carlos instantly become good friends. Initially, Edie used Travers to get closer with Carlos but Edie soon feels that if Travers lived with Edie, Carlos would come and visit more and, in the future, settle down with her. Edie starts to fight for Travers's custody, but Carlos feels it would be unfair to Travers if he wants to see his mother and his father. Travers returns home with his father towards the end of season 3.

Ater Edie's death, Susan, Gabby, Bree, Lynette and Karen travel to Travers's college to give him Edie's ashes. He refuses and heads off to class. Karen then tells Travers that Edie loved him and she was looking out for him because she knew she would be a bad mother. Travers then becomes upset about Edie's death but tells them that they were Edie's closest friends and they should spread the ashes how they see fit. The women then spread Edie's ashes over Wisteria Lane.
