Phyllis Van de Kamp is Rex's over emotional mother who often visits Bree. She is mentioned during Season 1 but her first apperances are in Season 2 and then later in Season 4.

Phyllis was first seen in Season 2 while visiting Bree after Rex's sudden death. Phyllis and Bree never but Bree snaps when she realsises that Phyllis has asked for Rex to be buried wearing his old school tie which is bright orange and green. Bree changes the tie during the funeral and after the funeral sends Phyllis back home.

Phyllis returns when Andrew invites her to Bree's (fake) baby shower. Phyllis begins meddling again by visiting Danielle and says to come and live with her. Bree says Phyllis is too old to look after Danielle and sends Phyllis home.
