At the hospital, a doctor informs Gabrielle and Carlos that a tiny bone fragment on Carlos' optic nerve may be responsible for his blindness, and if it's removed through surgery, Carlos may regain his sight. Carlos is excited but upon seeing her reflection in the mirror, Gabrielle's much less excited than her husband. Later, Susan comforts her friend about the problem, while Edie reminds Gaby she has a month to diet and exercise. But when the doctor informs Gabrielle and Carlos the surgery's been moved to Friday, Gabrielle's unable to postpone the surgery. Despite her efforts to quickly lose weight, Gabrielle finally tells Carlos to prepare to be disappointed by her new looks. But he informs his wife he knew he'd marry her the night he saw her eating a plate of BBQ ribs and laugh about it.

Katherine brings Mike cookies in the hospital, where Mike learns Susan doesn't know about them yet. When Susan visits Mike in the hospital, she learns (after eating one of the macadamia nut cookies) that Mike's involved with one of her friends, but he won't say who. Susan goes to Katherine to talk about who Mike could be involved with, and she initially targets one of her other friends before eating one of Katherine's macadamia nut cookies and realizing the truth. Susan storms off, and heads to see Bree, as she's learned Bree's known about Mike and Katherine for some time. Bree blames the problem on Susan, as she can see Susan still loves Mike, and tells her friend to either tell Mike how she feels or move on. Later, Susan calls Katherine to tell her she's okay with Katherine dating Mike, but Susan's true feelings become clear when Katherine asks Susan to come over for a visit and Susan makes an excuse not to join her friend.

Bree's happy when Orson's doctor, Dr. Alex Cominis, tells her Orson will be fine. He's sleeping in a hospital bed -- and is snoring quite loudly. Thankfully, the problem can be fixed with a simple surgery. But when Bree tells Orson this later, he refuses to have the surgery, as a family friend died in surgery once. Bree has trouble sleeping because of Orson's snoring; he almost drugs her tea with a sleeping pill, then learns she already took one. The next morning, Bree sleeps in, and Orson wakes her as she's late to a cooking demonstration, Bree drinks the drugged tea! She makes a fool of herself at the cooking demonstration due to being groggy. Later, Bree and Orson arrive at Dr. Cominis's office. Bree tells him Orson's having the surgery now because he owes her after drugging her. After they leave, Dr. Cominis calls his boyfriend to say he doesn't want to become like an insane married couple.

Lynette lies to detectives as she denies that Porter threatened to kill Warren Schilling. Tom realizes his wife's lying and can't believe she thinks Porter may have started the fire, though she reminds her husband he helped burn down Rick's restaurant years before. Lynette shows up at the hospital and promises Anne she'll give her money to go away if Anne never contacts Porter again--otherwise she'll face statutory rape charges. Later, when Lynette drives Anne to the bus station and gives the woman money, Anne leaves, but not before saying she was never pregnant. When Lynette asks Porter if he started the fire, her son says no, to her relief. But when he asks his mother if he knows where Anne is, Lynette lies and says no.

Dave talks to two detectives; they found Dr.Heller's body but haven't identified it yet. Mike thanks Dave for saving his life; a guilty Dave doesn't want to be considered a hero, but does tell Mike he wants to be his good friend. Dave's feeling even more guilty as he learns a total of seven people died in the fire. Edie tells her husband she heard a rumor that Porter started the fire. Dave goes to the detectives with a confession -- he saw Porter coming out of the storage room where the fire was started.
